CARLOS GOMEZ

Chief Instructional Officer at Lead Tactics and Certified DOJ Firearm Safety Instructor, has taught defensive tactics to a wide range of professionals - from local police departments and sheriff's deputies to members of SWAT teams and Federal agents. Now, he's bringing that same level of proven, real-world instruction to the civilian community.

THE OBJECTIVE

To ensure that an individual  prevents an attacker from taking their firearm and using it against them . The program involves various techniques and strategies that focus on firearm retention during close quarters scenarios where space is limited for maneuvers. These include, proper grip, position, body mechanics, strikes, grappling, distance management and other defensive tactics to neutralize the threat.

The scenario-based training, simulates real-life scenarios where individuals become more conscious of their surroundings and potential threats. This helps assess the situations, identify, determine the appropriate level of force needed and prioritizing personal safety. The training program provides individuals with the ability to make quick and effective decisions under high stress.

Firearm retention training is not meant to encourage aggression or unnecessary use of force. The primary focus is on maintaining control of the firearm and neutralizing threats while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.
